Missions sit inside Wards and are selected from the War Table. During a Hunt, you complete these assignments, face tougher enemies, and work toward the Ward boss.

Mission Flow

  1. Choose the Ward and next Mission at the War Table.
  2. Confirm your Loadout, Consumables, and Angel.
  3. Complete the objective while exploring optional paths.
  4. Fight regular enemies, elites, and possible mini-bosses.
  5. Collect Mission rewards and return to the hub when the assignment ends.

Encounters and Rewards

Missions can contain regular enemies, elite encounters, mini-bosses, secrets, and loot. Rewards may include Weapons, Armor, Trinkets, Consumables, and upgrades. Higher difficulty increases XP and raises the available Gear Quality range.

Life Pool Reset

In single-player, the Life Pool resets after you complete a Mission and return to the hub. It is also replenished before World Boss fights. This makes each Mission a self-contained survival challenge within the longer Hunt.

Mission, Ward, and Hunt Terminology

These terms describe different parts of the same journey. A Mission is one assignment selected from the War Table. A Ward contains a sequence of Missions and ends with a powerful boss. A Hunt, also called a Run, is the full attempt, from preparing in Sanctus Clypeus to progressing through a Ward and collecting temporary or permanent rewards.

Keeping the terms separate matters when tracking rewards, Life Pool resets, boss access, and the point at which recovered Gear can be purified.

Mission Preparation Checklist

  • Take a relevant Bounty from Gallant before leaving the hub.
  • Choose a Loadout and Angel suited to the expected encounter, not just the highest Quality.
  • Leave Bag space for equipment you may want to purify.
  • Confirm that the selected difficulty matches your permanent build.
  • In co-op, decide who will apply a status effect and who will capitalize on it.
