Every Crimson Moon Run can be played at one of six difficulty levels. Higher settings increase the risk and reward, improve the Gear tiers available from drops, and unlock as you complete easier Missions.

How Difficulty Works

Select the difficulty and any available challenge modifiers at the War Table before starting a Run. The game has six difficulty levels, and you unlock higher settings by completing Missions at lower ones.

Confirmed progression effect

Higher difficulty raises XP and increases both the minimum and maximum Quality of Gear rewards.

Risk and Reward

Harder Hunts feature tougher enemies and can drop rarer Gear. If you are chasing Legendary Gear, you will eventually need to move beyond the easiest tier.

Raise the difficulty once you can clear the current tier reliably, your Loadout follows a clear plan, and boss mistakes no longer cost most of your Life Pool.

Boss and Co-op Scaling

Boss scaling can adjust Health and Attack Damage. Some difficulty tiers may also change the status effects a boss inflicts. Co-op adds further adjustments for a second player's damage and utility.

Still to verify

Enemy counts, exact multipliers, modifier pools, and whether you can change difficulty during a Run still need hands-on testing.

  1. Clear the available lower tier and learn the Ward route.
  2. Purify a coherent starting Loadout.
  3. Upgrade key Gear with Gajov.
  4. Raise the difficulty by one step and see whether the better rewards justify the added risk.
  5. Farm only when you can clear the new tier consistently enough to protect valuable loot.
