To keep recovered Gear permanently, acquire or store it as you pass through a Nexus Gate, or carry it to the end of the Mission. Secured equipment returns to Sanctus Clypeus in purified form and is added to the Armory.

How Purification Works

  1. Find a new Weapon, Armor piece, or Trinket during a Run.
  2. Equip it or place it in the Bag.
  3. Carry the item through a Nexus Gate to secure it, or keep it until Mission completion.
  4. Return to Sanctus Clypeus. The secured item is purified and a Common Tier version is added to the Armory.
  5. Use Gold to upgrade the Armory version when the required Character Level is unlocked.
A boss clear is not required for Gate-secured Gear

If the Mission later fails, equipment already acquired or stored as you passed through a Nexus Gate is still retained in a weaker, purified form.

Eligible Gear

Weapons, Armor, and Trinkets can be purified. The Bag lets you carry unequipped items home and decide what to purify after returning safely.

What Happens on Failure

If the Life Pool is exhausted, equipment that never passed through a Nexus Gate is lost. There is no corpse marker and no way to recover it. Gate-secured Gear, collected Experience, gained levels, permanent unlocks, Lore Scrolls, and a portion of earned Souls are retained.

After Purification

Purified Gear appears in the Armory at Common Tier and can be equipped at the Loadout Station before future Hunts. Gold upgrades unlock by Character Level: Uncommon at level 2, Rare at level 4, and Epic at level 12. Purification and tier upgrades are separate parts of progression.

Safe Return Checklist

  1. Reserve Bag space for an item that could improve your build.
  2. Put unequipped items you want to keep in the Bag before the next Nexus Gate.
  3. Confirm the desired Gear has crossed a Gate before taking a high-risk route.
  4. Check the Armory after returning to the hub.
  5. Upgrade only the purified items central to a planned Loadout.
