Each Nephilim equips four Armor pieces. Some pieces belong to larger sets, and matching Gear can specialize a build for high-risk offense, defense, survival, or another playstyle.
How Armor Sets Work
Armor contributes Core Stats and can carry Boons. When comparing sets, look at each piece's effects and how the pieces work together, not only at their raw defense.
Armor found during a Run must be secured through a Nexus Gate or carried to Mission completion before its purified version joins the Armory.

Armor Quality
Armor follows the five Equipment Quality levels: Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary. Quality strengthens base attributes and can improve Boons that scale with the Gear.
Higher difficulty raises the minimum and maximum Quality available from drops. Gajov upgrades purified pieces in Sanctus Clypeus.
Building Around an Armor Set
Official build guidance describes Armor Sets that support different playstyles, including aggressive high-risk play and heavier defensive setups. Start with the behavior a set rewards, then choose a Weapon Art, Trinkets, Boons, and an Angel that reinforce the same plan.
Do not break up a coherent build because several pieces share a set name. Compare their active effects, the number of pieces required for each bonus, and what the remaining Gear slots must provide. In co-op, a defensive set can create room for a partner to focus on damage or status application.
Collecting and Improving Sets
Armor acquired during a Run remains at risk until it passes through a Nexus Gate or reaches Mission completion. Once its purified version enters the Armory, it can be used in future starting Loadouts and upgraded with Gold. Higher difficulty expands the Quality range that can drop, making set collection part of long-term progression.
Stats and Set Bonuses Still Incomplete
